Engagement rate is now the important measure of success on your social media pages.
Put simply, the higher your engagement rate, the more chance you have of your posts being seen. So you need to know what your engagement rate is and always strive to improve it.
To calculate your engagement rate – find your total number of interactions, divide this number by your total amount of followers and then multiply by 100. This will give you your engagement rate as a percentage.
If maths isn’t your thing, there are also online tools that you can use to work out your engagement rate for you. I use Tanke and I find it super easy. Just head to their website here and enter your Instagram username.
According to Scrunch, an engagement rate of less than 1% is low, between 1.5% and 3.5% is good, 3.5% – 6% is high and above 6% is generally considered very high.
